Make the most vital part of your face look good

The orthodontic cases( which are also known as the dental braces, braces or even cases) are certain devices which are used by the doctors in orthodontics in order to straighten or align the teeth and also to place them in such a way that they are in accordance to the person’s bite. They are widely used to correct various faults which occur in a person’s bite malocclusions, the overbites as well as the under bites, the deep bites and the cross bites, open bite, crooked teeth and the various other flaws which occur in a person’s teeth. The metal brackets in orthodontics can either cosmetic or structural. The dental braces are often found to be used along with the other appliances of orthodontics in order to widen the jaws or the palate which ultimately help in the shaping process of the jaws and the teeth.

The ceramic brackets in orthodontics are the crystalline, alumina, clear synthetic or tooth shaped sapphire brackets which are found to be aesthetically more attractive and sought for item than the conventional metal brackets. The process of the correction of the teeth takes place on the application of extreme pressure as well as force on the teeth. There are four traditional elements which are used in the process of orthodontics are bonding material, brackets, the ligature elastic (which is commonly known as the “O- ring”) and also the orthodontic arch wire. The teeth only move from their places when the arch wire puts pressure on the teeth. In difficult cases, even some kind of springs and rubber bands are used in order to increase the application of the force which is already being applied onto the teeth in a particular direction. The constant pressure by the braces eventually moves the teeth into the suitable position. In the whole process the teeth becomes a little loosened up and so a new bone grows in order to provide support in the new position of the teeth. This whole process of the growth of bone is called as bone remodelling. In the process of tooth movement, another process which is involved is that of bone deposition. This process takes place in the area of distracted periodontal ligament. In the absence of this process the tooth will all loosen up and voids will take place in in the direction of the movement of the tooth.

The pressure applied to the teeth must be in a slow way because there is a risk of a person losing his teeth in that case. This is the reason why the braces are needed to be worn for about a year and adjustments are needed to be made weekly.
